Prayer of Confession
L: Almighty and merciful God, we have gone wrong and strayed from your ways like lost sheep.
P: Too much we have followed the devices and desires of our own hearts.
L: We have broken your holy laws.
P: We have not done things we ought to have done, and we have done things we ought not to have done.
L: O Lord, have mercy upon us. Spare those who confess their faults.
P: Restore those who humble themselves and are truly sorry, according to your promises declared to the world in Christ Jesus, our Lord.
L: Merciful God, help us, for Jesus’ sake, to live a holy, just, and humble life to the glory of your holy name. Amen.

“Why Serve God?”
Response of Faith Our World Belongs to God 6
We rejoice in the goodness of God,
renounce the works of darkness,
and dedicate ourselves to holy living.
As covenant partners,
set free for joyful obedience,
we offer our hearts and lives
to do God’s work in the world.
With tempered impatience,
eager to see injustice ended,
we expect the Day of the Lord.
We are confident
that the light
which shines in the present darkness
will fill the earth
when Christ appears.
Come, Lord Jesus.
Our world belongs to you.
