ORDER OF WORSHIP

Prelude
Welcome/Announcements
Time of Silence “Hear Our Prayer, O Lord”
Call to Worship
In the last days the mountain of the Lord’s temple will be established as the highest of the mountains; it will be exalted above the hills, and all nations will stream to it. Many peoples will come and say,
“Come, let us go up to the mountain of the Lord,
to the temple of the God of Jacob.
He will teach us his ways,
so that we may walk in his paths.”
The law will go out from Zion, the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. He will judge between the nations and will settle disputes for many peoples. They will beat their swords into plowshares and their spears into pruning hooks. Nation will not take up sword against nation, nor will they train for war anymore.
Come, descendants of Jacob,
let us walk in the light of the LORD. —Isaiah 2:2–5

God’s Greeting
Prayer of Confession
Let us pray: O Lord, we worship you as the one who came as a child to bring light into this dark world. We acknowledge that we needed you to come and rescue us from our sin and our enemies. We give you thanks and praise for dying on the cross and rising again to new life so that we too can be raised to a new life in the fullness of your mercy and love. Help us to embrace you as Lord of our lives and to submit to the leading of your Spirit toward greater obedience and power. We confess that we need you each day to live lives of worship. Lord, teach us to love you more, and help us, with the angels, to long to see you one day face to face, casting our crowns at your feet in reverent adoration. In Jesus’ name we pray, amen.
