This Week at Calvin

Sunday, August 21st, Calvin CRC welcomes all to a time that has been set aside for the public worship of
God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit! Worship begins at 10 AM at 326 7t St SE, Le Mars. Before worship,
all are invited to study God’s Word at 9:00 AM in the Fellowship Hall. Classes for all ages is provided. A
lift chair is available to access the Fellowship Hall.
This Sunday Calvin celebrates communion. As we prepare to celebrate communion, we ask God for the
proper spirit in which to celebrate the sacrament that we may repent sincerely of all sin and that by it
we shall be spiritually revived, and strengthened in faith, hope, and love through Christ our Lord.
As is tradition, on communion Sundays we urge our members to contribute to the Christian Needs
Ministry. The September Needs include tuna, cream soups, any other soups, pasta sauce, juice, Ramen
noodles, pancake mix, pancake syrup, toilet paper, toothpaste, and laundry soup. Place items in the
blue barrel in narthex.
Pastor Brian Hofman concludes his series of sermons on the Old Testament story of Joseph. This
Sunday his text is from Genesis 50: 15 -26. Miriam Hector will play a medley of children’s songs on the
piano for the prelude. The songs of praise will be: “Come Let us Worship And Bow Down”, “My Hope is
Built on Nothing Less”, “Send Us Your Spirit”, and “We Cannot Measure How You Heal.”
This Sunday is a Special Offering for Josh’s Ride Custom Bikes for Special People.
Also, this Sunday we celebrate the baptism of Isaac Schroeder, son of Andy & Jacque. Praise God for this
blessing to our church.
Services may be seen on YouTube, on our website at Calvincrclemars.org, or by listening to a CD.
