This Week at Calvin

Sunday, August 21st, Calvin CRC welcomes all to a time that has been set aside for the public worship of
God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit! Worship begins at 10 AM at 326 7t St SE, Le Mars.
This Sunday Calvin celebrates communion. As we prepare to celebrate communion, we ask God for the
proper spirit in which to celebrate the sacrament that we may repent sincerely of all sin and that by it
we shall be spiritually revived, and strengthened in faith, hope, and love through Christ our Lord.
As is tradition, on communion Sundays we urge our members to contribute to the Christian Needs
Ministry. The August Needs includes canned peas, carrots, corn or green beans, chili beans, pork and
beans, canned tomatoes, soup, jelly, pancake mix, pancake syrup, pudding or jello cups, toothpaste,
toilet paper, and shampoo. Place items in the blue barrel in narthex.
Pastor Brian Hofman continues his series of sermons on the Old Testament story of Joseph. This
Sunday his text is from Genesis 43. Miriam Hector will play the prelude on the piano. The songs of
praise will be accompanied by Inez Hoogeveen on the piano and Miriam Hector on the organ. Some are:
“O Worship the King”, “I Will Sing of My Redeemer”, “In Remembrance”, “Sent Forth.”
A special offering will be taken for Siouxland Unity CRC. This Sioux City church, led by Rev. Keo S.
Phommarath has grown from an outreach primarily to Laotians to other ethnic groups in the area.
This Sunday is a Back to School Fellowship Meal at noon. Meat (grill out) and potatoes will be provided.
Please bring a dish of your choice (vegetable, salad, or dessert) to share.
Services may be seen on YouTube, on our website at Calvincrclemars.org, or by listening to a CD.
