This Week at Calvin

Calvin Christian Reformed Church, 4 blocks east of Foster Park, welcomes all who are looking for a church home. We love visitors who want to praise God through creative and joyful worship and sound Biblical preaching. Worship begins at 10:00 AM with the prelude “Hallelujah” by Inez Hoogeveen on the grand piano.
Our new pastor, Rev. Brian Hofman, has just begun a series of sermons on the book of Jonah. This week his text is Jonah 1: 17 – Jonah 2. We will sing “Come, Thou Almighty King”, “Come, Christians Join to Sing”, “Amazing Grace”, “The Song of the Prophets” and leave with “Go, My Children, With My Blessing.” The postlude will be the familiar “Put Your Hand in the Hand.”
All sermons can be found on our website calvincrclemars.org, on CDs under the mailboxes or livestream on YouTube. Tithes and offerings can be left in the wicker basket at the back of church, dropped off between 10 and noon Monday through Friday, or mailed to the church’s address 326 7th St SE, Le Mars.
This coming week our Evening Bible Study meets at 6:30 in the Fellowship Hall. Laura Grigsby leads this study “Growing Through Life’s Challenges.” Each lesson is independent, so starting in the middle is not an issue. We would love to have you join us!
Looking ahead: Sunday September 12th will a special day – beginning of Sunday School classes for all ages at 9 AM, Commissioning of teachers and leaders of Bible Studies, and Baptism of one of our infants.
The Bible League International is hosting a Tri-State Dinner Monday 9/20/21 at 6:30 pm in Sioux Center. The Conference is Tuesday 9:3- am – 3:00 pm in Sioux Center. Tickets on sale only through September 12. Calvin has always been supportive of this mission. Mark your calendars.
