This Week at Calvin

Sunday, October 16th, Calvin CRC welcomes all to a time that has been set aside for the public worship
of God: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit! Worship begins at 10 AM at 326 7t St SE, Le Mars. Before
worship, all are invited to study God’s Word at 9:00 AM in the Fellowship Hall. Classes for all ages is
provided.
This Sunday Calvin celebrates communion. As we prepare to celebrate communion, we ask God for the
proper spirit in which to celebrate the sacrament.
As is tradition, on communion Sundays we urge our members to contribute to the Christian Needs
Ministry. The October Needs include soup, canned fruit, chili beans, canned tomatoes, canned chicken
and tuna, crackers. Place items in the blue barrel in narthex.
Pastor Brian Hofman continues his series of sermons on Ecclesiastes. This Sunday his text is from
Ecclesiastes 2: 18 – 26. The songs of praise will be: “God is Here”, “Here I Am to Worship”, “You Are my
All in All”, and “In Our Lives, Lord Be Glorified.” The Song of Response is based on the Heidelberg Q &A
#1. The music for “My Only Comfort” was written by a former, well-known Dordt Choral director, Dale
Grotenhuis.
This Sunday is a Special Offering for The Luke Society. The Luke Society comes alongside indigenous
health professionals who are called to serve their own people.
A Men’s group will be meeting at Cork It in Le Mars on Wednesday, October 19 from 6:30 – 8:00PM.
No preparation is needed. Come and enjoy men’s fellowship.
It’s Back!!! Our Election Night Soup Supper will be November 8th, 5 – 7 PM, serving homemade soups,
desserts, taverns, pigs-in-a-blanket. Tickets are Adults: $10, Children 5 – 10: $5, 4 and under: Free.
