This Week at Calvin

Calvin Christian Reformed Church at 326 7th St SE, Le Mars, IA prepares to celebrate communion on this Ascension Sunday, May 16. As we prepare to celebrate communion we ask God for the proper spirit in which to celebrate the sacrament that we may repent sincerely of all sin and that by it we shall be spiritually revived, and strengthened in faith, hope and love through Christ our ascended Lord who sits at the right hand of God, our Father.
This Sunday, 10:00 AM, we welcome Rev. Tim Ouwinga to the pulpit. His message “Jesus, Lord of All” is based on Ephesians 1: 15 – 23. The congregation will be commemorating Ascension Day with the singing of “Rejoice the Lord is King”, and “Jesus Shall Reign”. During the distribution of the elements we will celebrate “the Lamb upon the throne” with the singing of “Crown Him with Many Crown” accompanied by organ.
For Special Music, Angeli Shieh and Miriam Hector will play a piano and organ duet of “The Holy City”.
We will honor our high school graduates during the service next week Sunday, May 23. Following the service Calvin will vote on the next pastor to our church. Please keep this matter in prayer to seek God’s will for Calvin CRC.
Sunday School classes will be held for two more Sundays. Come and learn more about our wonderful God through studies based on The Bible. The Wednesday Afternoon Bible Study plans to have their last meeting for the school year at Helen De Stigter’s home in Sioux Center. Lyn Bulthuis will lead the study on “Church”, Lesson 13. We will meet at church to carpool at 1:00 PM.
