This Week at Calvin

Calvin Church reminds us that this Good Friday, our Christ was forsaken by the closest of friends and
who committed no crime yet was sentenced to a criminal’s death. We observed His death at 7:00 PM,
326 7 th St SE. Readers from the congregation will remember and sing about your death, be taught it’s
meaning once again and help us to take up our cross and follow Him. It concludes with the extinguishing
of the Christ Candle representing Christ’s death on the cross. All will leave the sanctuary in darkness and
silence.
Easter morning, all are invited to join for breakfast. Devotions will begin at 8:45. Breakfast casserole,
muffins, and cinnamon rolls, coffee and juice will be served.
Sunday Worship begins at 10:00 AM. As a sign of Jesus’ Resurrection, the Christ Candle will be relit.
This Sunday Pastor Brian Hofman’s text is Mark 16:3-8. His message is about how Jesus is risen and
continues to lead His people. Glorious songs of worship and praise will add to this Easter morning:
“See, What A Morning!”, “Christ the Lord is Risen Today”, “Alleluia He is Coming”, and “I Serve a Risen
Savior”, and “I Know My Redeemer Lives”. Communion will be celebrated. Please join us.
A special offering will be taken for our missionaries Sara and Anthony Sytsma. The Calvin supported
missionaries work with Resonate Global Mission in Uganda.
Items for the Christian Needs Center are oatmeal, small jars of peanut butter, pancake mix, pancake
syrup, crackers, canned corn, small bottles of shampoo, and toilet paper.
The church is open every morning from 10 to noon. Anyone needing prayer may call the church (546-
4767) to be included in a prayer chain of prayer warriors from Calvin.
Services may be seen on YouTube, on our website at Calvincrclemars.org, or by listening to a CD.
