This Week at Calvin

Calvin Church invites all those looking for a church home and family to worship our one true God to join them this Sunday at 10 AM. We are located at 326 7th St SE, just east of Foster Park in Le Mars, IA.
This Sunday we welcome Mr. Duane Vander Plas to the pulpit. Duane is a dedicated Gideon in this area and loves to raise money for purchasing and distributing Bibles throughout the world. His message this week is "Have You Actively Been Sharing God's Free Gift of Salvation to Those Jesus Died For?" He has chosen Isaiah 55: 1 - 13, Psalm 23: 1 - 6, and Luke 9: 55 - 62 as the scripture passages.
Mandy Viet will provide prelude music on the grand piano. She and the All For Him Band will lead the singing of "How Great is Our God", "Your Name", "Give Me Jesus", and "Goodness of God". They will sing "Order My Steps' in preparation for the hearing of The Word. The band includes Bruce Smit on drums, Jim Viet on bass, Bob Hughes and Ron De Kok on acoustic guitars. Mary Fedders, Lyn Bulthuis, Steve Ver Mulm and Patrick Visscher will sing.
We eagerly anticipate the arrival of our new pastor and his wife, The Rev. Brian and Tessa Hofman and their daughters. Pastor Brian will have his first Sunday on August 22nd. We are praying for a smooth transition for all involved.
This Sunday after the service all are invited to the Fellowship Hall for a meal. Each family is asked to supply one dish to share. Following the meal we will have a couple's shower for Dave Davelaar and his fiance, Amy Widman.
All offerings and tithes may be left in the wicker basket in the narthex, sent to the church or dropped off when the office is open Monday through Friday, 10 to noon.
