This Week at Calvin
Calvin Church, 326 7 th St SE, welcomes all who are looking for a church family with whom you can
worship, learn, and fellowship. Sunday Worship begins at 10:00 AM. This Sunday Pastor Brian Hofman
goes to Mark 12:28-34 for his Lenton message. The songs of worship and praise are: “Beneath the Cross
of Jesus”, Call To Confession: “Not What My Hands Have Done”, “I Stand Amazed in the Presence”, “You
Shall Love the Lord”, and “We Receive Your Blessing”. Jenna Morris is singing her contest piece “O Rest
in the Lord” from the Oratorio “Elijah” for the song of preparation.
A new Adult Sunday School class begins Sunday at 9:00 am. We’ll be researching Biblical prophecies
fulfilled in modern times. .
Mark Siemonsma, a former Calvin member, has started a fund-raising event for Ukrainian refugees that
have crossed the border into Romania. Mark has been working in Romania for 18 years and they need
our help. Gifts may be sent to Hope Haven Ukrainian Refugee Campaign, PO Box 70, Rock Valley, IA
51247 so you can get a charitable deduction for your gift. In partnership with Hope Haven Romania’s
Pastor Daniel Mereuta, the Barlad Rotary Club and Bucharest Rotary Club, funds raised will directly help
refugees. These in-country partners in Romania help expedite effective relief to these not in camps, but
in people’s homes. Relief provides clothing, food and shelter. 100% of your donation helps refugees
from the Ukraine.
The church is open every morning from 10 to noon to pick up books or DVDs, or CDs of the service.
Anyone needing prayer may call the church (546-4767) to be included in a prayer chain of prayer
warriors from Calvin.
Services may be seen on YouTube, on our website at Calvincrclemars.org, or by listening to a CD.
