This Week at Calvin

Calvin Christian Reformed Church invites all to a time of public worship of God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit at 10:00 AM on Sundays. We also invite all to a growing relationship with Christ through educational opportunities. We have Adult Sunday school meeting at 9:00 AM. We are hoping to have classes for the young people very soon.
This Sunday we welcome Rev. Jesse Walhof to preach The Word. Jesse is a son of the congregation now pastoring The Living Water Community Church in Sheldon, IA.
Miriam Hector will provide a prelude on the grand piano to welcome all into spirit of worship. The prelude is an arrangement of "Here I Am, Lord" by John Carter. Songs of Worship this Sunday include "Now With Joyful Exultation", "Oh For a Thousand Tongues to Sing" and "Breath on Me Breath of God".
We are celebrating Communion this Sunday. All who have been baptized, are truly sorry for their sins, who sincerely believe in the Lord Jesus as their Savior, and who desire to live in obedience to Him are invited to come with gladness to the table of our Lord. During the distribution of elements by the elders we will sing "Table of Plenty". Following communion the Apostles' Creed will be recited in unison. We will join in singing "The Doxology" (Praise God From Whom All Blessings Flow) as our thankfulness for God's great gifts to us.
As is the tradition, Calvin collects items for the Christian Needs Center on communion Sundays. Their needs include: spaghetti noodles, boxed potatoes, rice, peas & mixed vegetables, canned fruit, canned green beans, tuna, hamburger/tuna helper, toilet paper, and bar soap. These items can be placed in the blue barrel in the narthex. Dave Hector will deliver them on Wednesday. Thank you for placing your donations in bags.
This Sunday we also have a special offering designated for the Sioux City Gospel Mission. All tithes and offerings may be placed in the basket in the narthex, sent to the church office at 326 7th St SE, Le Mars or delivered to church when the office is open Monday through Friday 10 to noon.
During this next week the Evening Women's Bible Study meets on Wednesday at 6:30 PM in the Fellowship Hall. They are studying the John Ortberg study "If You Want to Walk on Water, You Have to Get Out of the Boat."
We pray that we all can find courage through these days. "God already knows all the details in the pandemic. Pray we can trust these problems to Him." Quote from Pastor Verlyn Schaap.
