This Week at Calvin
Calvin Christian Reformed Church opened its doors in 1954. God has built this church and been faithful to all it's people. Calvin is thankful for the work God allows us to do in this community and beyond.
Many missionaries and pastors have been raised in Calvin. We praise God for this. We pray that He will continue to raise up others to work in His Kingdom.
This week Sunday, August 9th, Calvin has the privilege of welcoming Will Ver Mulm into the fellowship of Calvin CRC through Profession of Faith. What an exciting event for this young man who was adopted by Steve and Kathy Ver Mulm just a few years ago!
Miriam Hector will provide a prelude for the 10 AM service. She is playing 'Great is Thy Faithfulness" arranged by Douglas Wagner and "Forever You Are Faithful" by Chris Tomlin arranged by Carol Tornquist.
The All For Him Praise Band will lead the singing of "Be the Centre", "We Believe", "Forever", and "Friend of God".
These faithful members are: Bruce Smit on drums, Ron DeKok and Bob Hughes on guitars, Jim Viet on bass, Miriam Hector on Keys. Steve Ver Mulm, Patrick Vissicher, Mary Feddersa and Lyn Bulthuis will sing. One of Will's favorite songs, "Goodness of God" will be played following his profession of faith.
Pastor Rev. Dr. Nevada DeLapp has chosen Psalm 136, a litany of praise to the Lord as Creator and as Israel's Redeemer, as the text for his sermon.
We encourage our members and friends to participate in Her Health Women's Center Annual Fundraising Banquet to be held Tuesday, September 15 from 6:30 to 8:30 PM at the Sioux City Convention Center. Ryan Bomberger will be the special guest whose compelling story reveals that All Life Has Purpose. Register today at susie@herhealthwomenscenter.org. Le Mars now has a center on Plymouth Street just behind the Brown's Theatre. It offers free counseling for women in crisis situations.
Calvin's services are open to public attendance with social distancing encouraged. Online streaming is available, or on the website at calvincrclemars.org. CDs of past services are on the ledge below the mailboxes. Feel free to take any that you would like.
Calvin Church is located at 326 7th ST SE, Le Mars. Your tithes and offerings can be mailed to this address, or given during the week while the church office is open Monday through Friday from 10 - noon. Or you may drop them off in the basket as you leave the sanctuary. Thank you so much for "giving cheerfully of your God-given resources of time, talents, and treasures, to provide adequate facilities and well-trained disciples for God's growing kingdom."
"Now may the Lord of peace himself give you peace at all times and in every way. The Lord be with all of you." 2 Thessalonians 2:16.
