This Week at Calvin

Calvin Christian Reformed Church at 326 7th St. SE, Le Mars encourages all to be the light of the world just as Jesus taught us. In whatever way we can be of help to you, please let us know. Our church phone number is 712-546-4767, the secretary is in her office from 10 - noon Monday through Friday, our Pastor Nevada's number is 616-443-4164. Please do not be afraid to call for assistance in these dark times and Calvin members want to walk along side you to be the light.
Our services are recorded on Saturday mornings making it easier to make the CDs of the service and deliver them to people without internet. They are then online streaming at 10:15 am through the church's member's emails. If you would like to receive this information just call our secretary, and she will make sure you receive the link. If you have Premier cable TV, our services are aired at 5:00 PM for viewing.
Thankfully we have the assurance that Christ is alive and we celebrate the Third Sunday of Easter on April 26th. Angeli Shieh, a foreign exchange student living with Steve and Kathy Ver Mulm, will play the prelude on the grand piano. The prelude is titled "Whom Shall I Fear (God of Angel Armies). The All For Him praise band and singers look forward to leading the singing with acceptable distancing. The Songs of Hope chosen for this Eastertide are "Come, People of the Risen King", "Living Hope", "Same Power", and "See A Victory". The Gospel Lesson is found in Luke 24: 13 - 25 (Road to Emmaus). Pastor Rev. Dr. Nevada DeLapp is doing a series of sermons this Eastertide on the Psalms. He has chosen Psalm 91 for his text this Sunday. This Psalm has been read and memorized by many as a glowing testimony to the security of those who trust in God. Satan quoted a couple of these verses to tempt Jesus in the wilderness. But Jesus always quoted the Word of God to repel these tempts. The Song of Response is based on this scripture titled, "Jesus, Tempted in the Desert."
All your offerings and tithes may be mailed to the church or dropped off when the secretary is in her office.
Calvin's church building is open from 10 - 2 for anyone who would like to pray or spend time in silence in the sanctuary.
Seniors from high school and college will be honored with gifts and words of blessing on May 17th. We also look forward to the Ascension of our Lord on Sunday, May 24 and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost May 31st. Praise the Lord!
We pray you will take time to worship our God: Father, Son and Holy Spirit in whichever media is available to you. We've been praying for you, and hope you will experience the joy of God's life changing love today.
