This Week at Calvin

Calvin Christian Reformed Church was so honored to have many friends join them in last Sunday's Praise Band Fest. What an amazing night of worship! All the bands: People of Praise from St John's Lutheran, Rejoice! Praise Band, trio from Le Mars Church of Christ and the All For Him band from Calvin sang and played their favorite contemporary Christian songs from their hearts. The people in attendance responded by joining in raising their hands and voices to many new Hallelujahs. The freewill offering for the Her Health Women's Ministry that is coming to town was a grand $2043.05. Thank you to all contributors. Her Health can be found on Facebook if you are interested in contributing to their effort of helping women)

This Sunday, Pastor Rev. Dr. Nevada DeLapp is starting a new series of sermons on the book of Judges. Judges is a book of the Bible that is written about the leaders of the Israelite people after Joshua dies. These leaders each time try to lead God's people on the straight and narrow. Pastor DeLapp will have us remember God's saints in our lives that show us God's way and what He has done and who He is. Miriam Hector will play a prelude on the grand piano. The Song of Gathering is based Psalm 84 "Better is One Day." Miriam will accompany the familiar hymns "For All The Saints" and "The Church's One Foundation" on the organ. The offertory will be a solo on the organ titled "Find Us Faithful". The text for this week's sermon is Judges 2: 6 - 23. The Apostles Creed will be recited responsively with Pastor and congregation. The Song of Response will be 'Faith of Our Fathers." We will be sent out with the "Doxology: Praise God From Whom All Blessings Flow".
