This Week at Calvin

Calvin Christian Reformed Church (CCRC) is "A Caring Church, Reaching Community". Our mission is to praise God through creative and joyful worship, sound Biblical preaching, an inspiring music ministry, and continual prayer. Worship begins at 10:15 AM at 326 7th St SE, Le Mars. We welcome all who are looking for a church home to visit and make yourself at home. We have been praying for you,, and hope you will experience the joy of God's life changing love.
This week we welcome Rev. Norlyn Van Beek to our pulpit while Pastor Nevada is on vacation. Norlyn is a friend of our congregation in that while he was studying at the Sioux Falls Seminary, he interned at our church. We are excited to have him preach The Word this week. His text is John 15: 1 - 11. The message is titled "Abide." The All For Him praise band will be leading the singing of "May The Peoples Praise You", "Lord, I Need You" for the call to confession. The Assurance of Pardon will be sung with the song "Your Grace is Enough". The Preparatory Exhortation for the Lord's Supper will be read in anticipation of the Communion next week. The Band will sing "Lord of My Life" during the collection of the tithes and offerings. Following the message the song of response will be "Abide With Me." We will go out with joy as we sing the chorus "Lord of My Life."
Other servers this Sunday include Tom & Joyce De Koster as greeters, Pete & Mary Attema as coffee servers, Dave Hector as usher, Karin DeLappp as nursery, Steve Ver Mulm on sound system and Jeremy Kamp on the power point.
Sunday School classes for ages 4 through adult are held at 9:00 AM. Sharon Zomermaand is teaching the young children each week. Cass Martin is leading discussion this week on topics on the young peoples' minds. Tom Bjorge leads the adults in a Max Lucado video and discussion. We thank all these dedicated teachers for providing meaningful, stimulating educational and discipleship opportunities to promote a growing relationship with Christ.
Excitement is filling the ranks as we reach out to our neighbors and prepare for the Praise Band Festival Sunday, February 16, at 5:00 PM in Calvin. Praise teams from our Le Mars community are preparing their favorite contemporary Christian songs to lead all in informal worship that evening. St. John's Lutheran's People of Praise, Rejoice! Praise Team, All For Him from Calvin and a trio and guitar from Le Mars Church of Christ are practicing and preparing their songs for all to enjoy. A freewill offering for the new Her Health Women's Ministry that is coming to Le Mars to provide free ultrasounds and counseling to women and couples. Taverns, chips, bars and cookies will be served following the music in the Fellowship Hall for a freewill offering going to Her Health, as well. Come and join us for a wonderful community time for praising God and fellowship with one another.
The Ladies of Calvin are reserving Sunday, February 23rd for an evening of Appreciation. A dinner will be served by the men of Calvin. More information will follow but for now: Ladies - save 5:00 PM to be honored in the Fellowship Hall.
