This Week at Calvin

Calvin Christian Reformed Church, CCRC, likes to be known as "A Caring Church, Reaching Community." Our church building is located at 326 7th St SE.

We can be found being Jesus' hands and feet as we do Nursing Home Ministry again this Sunday, November 17. We will have members reaching out to Prime Living at 1:30 PM and then to Acura Health at 2:15 PM. Pastor Rev. Dr. Nevada DeLapp will have a short meditation for each location and Miriam Hector will accompany favorite hymns along with several members singing and greeting those in attendance.

We want to extend our hands and feet out to the world with our filled Operation Christmas Child boxes to be turned in this Sunday. Tom De Koster and others help load these to deliver to Sioux Center later in the week.
We have had the opportunity to hear the testimonies of several recipients over the years. It is amazing what a difference a little shoe box can make in a child's life in a Third World Country.

This month Calvin is using their cars, hands and feet to deliver Meals on Wheels to community people needing a warm meal on these cold days.

This Sunday Calvin celebrates communion. All who have been baptized, are truly sorry for their sins, who sincerely believe in the Lord Jesus as their Savior, and who desire to live in obedience to Him are invited to come with gladness to the table of our Lord this morning. As is tradition, Calvin members are reminder to bring items for the Christian Needs Center in Le Mars on communion Sundays. The needs for November include: granola bars, soup, jelly, juice, toilet paper, shampoo and deodorant.                                                      A special offering will be for World Renew.

Sundays begin with our Education Classes at 9:00 AM. There are classes for ages 4 through Adult.
Worship begins at 10:15 AM with a prelude by Miriam Hector on the grand piano along with an orchestral accompaniment. A medley of praise songs include: "Shout To the Lord", "Lord, I Lift Your Name on High" and "Great is the Lord".
Other songs to be sung will be "Praise to the Lord, the Almighty", "To God Be the Glory" accompanied by the organ. Dave Davelaar will read the Old Testament reading from Daniel 12: 1 - 13. The Gospel Lesson comes from John 1: 29 - 34. The singing of "Ancient Words" bookends the reading of the Gospel. Pastor DeLapp's sermon series continues from the book of Revelation Chapter 5: 1 - 14 - The slain lamb interprets scripture through death and resurrection.
Following the message, communion will be distributed while Angeli Shieh plays "You Are My All in All" and "Holy Spirit" on the piano. The Doxology will be sung as we are sent out into the world to be Jesus amongst all we meet. Come and join Calvin in the great opportunity.
Serving behind the scenes are the Coffee Servers - Gary & Glenda Habben,, Greeters: Pete & Mary Attema, Usher: Lynda Bulthuis, Nursery: Helen DeStigter, Sound System: Steve Ver Mulm, and Power Point: Jeremy Kamp.
Past services can be heard on our website at www.calvincrclemars.org.
