This Week at Calvin

The Fall is a wonderful time to minister to each other and our neighbors through caring relationships. Calvin has many opportunites such as:
# Meals on Wheels: Calvin, along with the First Baptist Church, is delivering meals during November. Each church needs one driver each day. Helen De Stigter heads this outreach opportunity for Calvin.
# Annual Bowl-a-thon for Youth for Christ will take place on November 3. Join Calvin's bowlers from 2:30 - 5:30 at the Sweet 16 Lanes in Le Mars. It is free with snacks, pop, shoes and bowling included. We are hoping to have 1 adult and 1 youth team for Calvin. Sign up on the sheet in the Narthex.
# Election Night Soup Supper, Tuesday, November 5 serving 4 soups, pig-in-the-blanket, taverns and a variety of desserts. Adult tickets are $10; Children 5 - 10 - $5; Children 4& under - free. Carry outs are available.
Profits from this year's Soup Supper will be divided equally between the Sioux City Gospel Mission and the Center for Financial Education in Le Mars.
# Pastor Appreciation Month is October. Members of Calvin may clip a card to the tree in the narthex by this weekend. After the morning service, all are invited to the Fellowship Hall for cake and coffee to honor Pastor DeLapp for all he means to our congregation.

This Sunday Alyssa Grigsby will lead all into a spirit of worship with a prelude on the grand piano. The All For Him will accompany the opening songs for the Reformation theme: "In Christ Alone" , "Living Hope" and "Everlasting God". Alyssa will accompany "A Mighty Fortress" on the organ. Pastor Rev. Dr. Nevada DeLapp's Reformation sermon will be based on Psalm 34. During the offertory, a video will be shown for the Operation Christmas Child boxes that are ready to be filled. Please help with this mission project to give joy to children and spread the gospel message. Date to return filled boxes is Sunday, November 17.
The Greeters this week will be Tom & Joyce De Koster, Coffee Servers are Joyn & Mary Van Hill, Usher will be Dave Hector, Nursery supervised by Glenda Habben, Sound System and Power Point run by Jeremy Kamp.
We thank all those that are will to serve and make things run smoothly.
This coming week the Afternoon Women's Bible Study meets on Wednesday at 1:30. They continue their study on "Walking With God in the Desert' by Ray Vander Laan. We will begin Lesson 4 this week.
Calvin invites all to join them as they seek to be "A Caring Church, Reaching Community". Our building is located at 326 7th St SE or on the web at www.calvincrclemars.org.
