This Week at Calvin

Calvin Church welcomes all who are looking for a church home to visit and make yourself at home. We've been praying for you, and hope you will experience the joy of God's life changing love. Pastor Rev. Dr. Nevada DeLapp continues his sermon series on Hosea through the month of September. If you have happened to miss one of the sermons, you can find them on the web at http://www.calvincrclemars.org and click on sermons. This week August 29th, is the Gospel according to Hosea, Chapter 4: 1 - 3. "The Charge Against Israel." The Psalm reading is from Psalm 112 read responsively between the Pastor and the Congregation. The Gospel reading is from the much memorized passage John 3: 16 - 21.

This week Inez Hoogeveen will be playing the grand piano for the worship music. We thank her for leading us in worship this week. The familiar hymns selected are: "Beautiful Savior", "For The Beauty of the Earth", "How Blest Are Those Who Fear the Lord" and "This Is My Father's World."
This Sunday the greeters are Anna Mae Koerselman and Steve Ver Mulm, the Coffee Servers are Pete & Mary Attema, the Usher is John Klocksiem, Nursery is Helen De Stigter, Sound System is Bruce Smit and Power Point is Jeremy Kamp. We thank all those who serve in their own ways.
This Fall the Women of Calvin and their friends are planning two Bible Studies meeting at different times to accommodate schedules. There is one on the first and third Wednesdays at 1:30 PM. Their lesson will come from a familiar author, Ray Vander Laan entitled "Walking With God in the Desert" (Experiencing Living Water When Life is Tough). Helen De Stitger has books available, contact her. The other option is held on the second and fourth Wednesdays at 6:30 PM. These gals will be studying the DVD series "Johsua". There is a signup for this one on or before September 1st. Call the church at 546-4767 to join.
Future plans ae for the 2019 Conference, "His Plan...Our Purpose," hosted by Bible League International will be held September 9 & 10 at the First Reformed Church, Sioux Center. Purchase your ticket online at bibleleague.org/ticket or contact Mary Van Hill.
Plans to attend the It Is Well play by Josiah Mullins at The Browns Century Theatre are being planned for October 11th. If you are interested in joining Calvin friends, call Mary Reed.
