This Week at Calvin
Calvin Christian Reformed Church enters this July praising God through creative and joyful worship, sound Biblical preaching, an inspiring music ministry, and continual prayer. Members and visitors are always welcomed to experience the joy of God's love during worship at 10:15 AM on Sunday mornings. Pastor Rev. Dr. Nevada DeLapp continues his sermon series on The Lord's Prayer. This Sunday he focuses on the phrase "For Thine is the Kingdom and the Power and the Glory Forever." Pastor will base his sermon on the Psalm 148 (Let all creatures praise the Lord). Hymns have been chosen to do just that. They are "All Creatures of Our God and King", "To God Be the Glory" from "My Tribute", "Rejoice the Lord is King", "Lord, I Lift Your Name on High", and "Shout To the Lord". We thank Mandy Viet from Ireton for filling in as the worship accompanist this week.
Those serving this week are John & Judy Klocksiem as Greeters, Peter and Mary Attema as Coffee Servers, John Klocksiem as Usher, Troy and Elisa Hughes as Nursery supervisors, and Jeremy Kamp on the sound system and Power Point.
Calvin Church has been blessed to install a newer, digital Allen organ this past week. It was purchased from Omega Organ Systems in Spencer, Iowa. The congregation expressed that they love to hear the organ with traditional hymns and wanted their children to learn them as they had in their childhoods. Calvin likes to blend their worship music. That means using songs and hymns and spiritual songs. So when appropriate we will use the praise band for contemporary songs, the grand piano for spiritual songs and the organ for more classic hymns and organ music.
Calvin's building is located at 326 7th St SE, but we prepare our people to be God's hands and feet with whom we meet. Our website at calvincrclemars.org posts our past services and sermons by Pastor DeLapp. In your free time, you are welcomed to visit us.
