This Week at Calvin

May 5th is the 2nd Sunday of Eastertide.  At Calvin Christian Reformed Church in Le Mars we are thrilled to celebrate this day with more baptisms and public profession of faith.

Following the service the church family will celebrate all the recent baptisms and profession of faith with a potluck dinner.  A hot dish and a salad of your liking may be prepared to share with all.  Dessert and drink is provided by the Fellowship Committee made up of Mary and Pete Attema, Helen De Stitger, Mary and John Van Hill and Mary and Jerry Reed.

Pastor Rev. Dr. Nevada DeLapp will start his series of sermons on the Lord's Prayer this Sunday.  He will be using hymns and the Heidelberg Catechism to reflect on the Lord's Prayer.  This Sunday Pastor has chosen the words "Our Father". from Luke 11: 11 - 13.  The Heidelberg Question and Answer #120 will be read responsively. The Apostles' Creed will also be recited at the conclusion of baptism.

Miriam Hector will play several worship songs on the piano to lead all into worship.  These will include "You Are My All in All", "My Faith Looks Up to Thee" and "O Magnify the Lord with Me and Exalt His Name Forever." Other songs to be sung with the congregation are:  "Lord, Listen to Your Children Praying," "Lord, I Lift Your Name on High", "Children of the Heavenly Father", and "Go, My Children With My Blessing."  This week Arlinna Bowen will bless us with a solo during the offertory.  Her solo "Give Me Jesus" was prepared for Solo Contest a few weeks ago and she is gracious enough to share it with Calvin.  Arlinna is a senior at Le Mars Community Schools and daughter of Derek and Yvette Bowen.

The Greeters will be Tom & Joyce De Koster, Coffee Servers - Fred & Glenda Vollink, Usher - John Klocksiem, Nursery - Cindy De Vos, Sound System and Power Point - Jeremy Kamp.
