This Week at Calvin

This Sunday, April 28th is the 2nd Sunday of Easter. Calvin Church continues this celebration with the white cloth draped over the cross representing the purity and wholeness demonstrated through Christ's resurrection more than 2,000 years ago.
This Sunday is also a special day in the life of Calvin Church. What a joy to have people come on their own to make profession of faith in Christ in front of the Council and then in public at this week's service! Anyone who desires to take that step is encouraged to do so. They may talk to Pastor DeLapp or any of the members of Calvin, who will give you guidance and instruction for this decision.
Miriam Hector will lead all into a spirit of worship with a prelude of "Were You There? with Crown Him with Many Crowns" on the grand piano. The All For Him team of Steve Ver Mulm, Mary Fedders, Ron De Kok, Bob Hughes, Jim Viet, Miriam Hector and Dave Davelaar will lead the singing. The Easter songs will be "Come, People of the Risen King", "See, What A Morning!", "Seek Ye First the Kingdom of God", "Crown Him/Majesty" and "Oh How Good is Christ the Lord". For the offertory the band will sing a special song for the Profession of Faith entitled "Defining Moment."
Pastor Rev. Dr. Nevada DeLapp will begin a new series of sermons on the Lord's Prayer found in Luke 11: 1 - 4. This passage reads that the disciples asked Jesus to "teach them to pray."
The Greeters this week are John & Judy Klocksiem, the Coffee Servers - Gary & Glenda Habben, Dave Hector will usher, Nursery is supervised by Troy & Elisa Hughes. Jeremy Kamp will set up and run and powerpoint.
Calvin is putting together a new informal picture directory. Troy Hughes and/or Kaitlyn Visscher will be taking family pictures for the next couple weeks. Hopefully they can get pictures of everyone.

Each following evening will do the same for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. The closing session will end at 8:15 PM each evening. Kaitlyn Visscher is directing again and encourages all children ages 4 - 5th grade to attend. Teenagers are invited to help the younger children as they go from place to place.
