This Week at Calvin

Calvin Christian Reformed Church, 326 7th St SE, Le Mars, welcomes you to "Enter His Gates With Thanksgiving in Your Hearts." Psalm 100:4. This is the season of Thanksgiving. We welcome you to join Calvin in this special time when we thank God for all the gifts He has blessed us with.
This Sunday we welcome Rev. Todd Zuidema to the pulpit. He is a former pastor now serving as the Director of Church Relations at Dordt University in Sioux Center. His message is "Do Not Be Dismayed" based on Isaiah 41: 10. The Song of Response will be "The Church's One Foundation." Rev. Zuidema will lead us in Communion following the message. As is the tradition at Calvin we encourage all members to bring a non-perishable item for donation to the Christian Needs Center. Their November needs include: pasta sauce, soup, jelly, toilet paper, shampoo, and toothpaste.
This week's Special Offering is designated for The Back to God Hour. All tithes and offerings may be placed in the wicker basket at the rear of the sanctuary, sent to the church or brought during office hours Monday through Friday, 10 - 2.
The prelude of "Great is Thy Faithfulness" will be played by Miriam Hector on the grand piano with accompaniment CD. The hymns of thanksgiving will be "I Will Enter His Gates with Thanksgiving", "Rejoice, O Pure in Heart, and "I Am Thine O Lord". During the distribution of the elements we will sing "Let Us Break Bread Together". The congregation will respond with exclaiming "How Great Thou Art."
This Sunday, November 15, is the last day to return the filled boxes for Operation Christmas Child. In a new initiative, boxes will be sent from island to island in the Pacific to take the Gospel to a half a million children over the next few years, as past of their commitment to "proclaim the Gospel to the whole creation." (Mark 16:15). We ask that you not only fill a box, but pray for the children receiving them as they hear the Good News of the Gospel. May God bless you.
Looking ahead, Calvin plans to celebrate with a Thanksgiving Banquet and fun program November 22nd, in the late afternoon, Lord willing. A Thanksgiving Eve service is being planned for Wednesday, November 25th at 7:00 PM led by the Rev. Bob Drenton from Orange City.
Calvin encourages you to attend our worship services in person by sitting spread out through out the sanctuary, live with online streaming, listening to the services on our website on Monday at calvincrclemars.org or picking up a CD/bulletin from church underneath the mailboxes.
Sunday school classes are held for all ages at 9:00 AM. Women's Bible Study on Wednesday at 1:30 PM. You are welcomed to join us, we sit socially distanced and provide fresh coffee
