This Week at Calvin
Operation Christmas Child boxes are now available at Calvin Christian Reformed Church, 326 7th St SE, Le Mars, IA. Please prayerfully consider filling boxes again this year as Samaritan's Purse says there are now especially many needs for children. Give them joys for Christmas and share the Good New of Christ! Return date for filled boxes is Sunday, November 15th. Each Sunday we are showing a story of some special recipient in years past and find how just opening a gift is something they seldom experience. Plus there is a follow up discipleship program, The Greatest Journey. Families are reached, churches grow, new churches are started, and communities are transformed. May God bless you as you pack each box.
This Sunday, Sunday School classes for all ages happens at 9:00 PM. We are so grateful for the teachers that plan and teach our classes. Sharon Zomermaand teaches the youngest children. Tom De Koster teaches the older youth. Dave Hector teaches an Adult Class with a Max Lucado study on "Grace". Please come to promote a growing relationship with Christ. Coffee is always ready to go when you arrive.
The Search Committee for a new pastor is actively meeting. We pray for their guidance and wisdom as we search for the Pastor God has in mind for Calvin CRC.
This Sunday Rev. Dave Heilman fills the pulpit. Miriam Hector will lead all into worship with a prelude on the grand piano titled "Rejoice in the Lord Always" in the setting of Chopin's Minute Waltz. The All For Him Band is preparing to lead the singing of some Thanksgiving songs. They include "Forever", "Worthy is the Lamb", "Forever Reign", and "Great is the Lord".
Tithes and offerings can be left in the wicker basket in the rear of the sanctuary, dropped off at the church office when it is open Mondays through Friday, 10 - noon, or mailed to the church. Thank you for cheerfully giving to God's growing kingdom.
Communion will be celebrated at Calvin on the third Sunday of November. Our church Thanksgiving Banquet will be November 22nd in the evening. There are ideas of a great program being tossed around. Come and find out. A Thanksgiving Eve service will be held on Wednesday, November 25 titled "Savoring God's Good Gifts." And then Advent begins November 29th.
We invite all to come and worship with us at 10:00 AM on Sundays. We welcome masks and ask you to socially distance in the church pews. We have plenty of room for you.
If you prefer to watch the service on live stream, please give your email to our church secretary and we would love to include you, or a recorded service on our website at calvincrclemars.org., or pick up a CD and bulletin from church. They are placed under the mailboxes. All announcements are available as well on the church website.
