This Week at Calvin

Calvin Christian Reformed Church wants to share the Good News of Great Joy! By packing shoeboxes to tell a child around the world about Jesus, God's Greatest Gift, many children will be introduced to God's Love. He/She will in turn tell friends and family about Him through the discipleship program called The Greatest Journey. You may pack your box with items for a certain age. Things like clothing, toys, school supplies and even a note and picture of yourself. Calvin has many boxes available for those who like to join us in this effort so that more children in the remote corners of the world can hear the Good News. This program is sponsored by Samaritan's Purse called Operation Christmas Child. Our church offices are open Monday through Friday 10 through noon, or on Sundays. Calvin is located at 326 7th St SE, Le Mars. All filled boxes should be returned by Sunday, November 15th. May God bless you.
Calvin welcomes Rev. Duane Tinklenburg from Sioux Center back again to preach The Word this week. Our service begins at 10 AM. Miriam Hector will lead all into a spirit of worship with the prelude "How Deep the Father's Love For Us" and the children's chorus "Deep and Wide." The All For Him band and singers will accompany and lead the singing of "Surely the Presence of the Lord is in This Place" and "He is Here", and "Who You Say I Am". The offertory has been replaced with a special number "Living Hope". All offering may be placed in the wicker basket at the rear of the sanctuary, mailed to the church office, or dropped anytime during office hours. Thank you for your support for the Lord's work in our church, community and around the world. Pastor Tinklenburg's message "Our Father's Aversion To Shame" is based on the scripture Luke 11: 1 - 13. The song of response will be "Great is Thy Faithfulness". Following the Benediction we will celebrate with the singing of "We Will Dance."
This week Sunday Calvin loves to participate in the Youth For Christ Bowl-A-Thon held at the Sweet 16 Lanes. All expenses are covered, come and join in the fun with all ages of our area youth.
The Search Committee is at work for the search of a new pastor. Surveys are asked to be returned soon to continue the process. Thanks for your participation.
This week Wednesday will be the Evening Women's Bible Study held at 6:30 PM in the Fellowship Hall. Sunday School is held on Sunday mornings at 9:00 AM in the basement. All these provide meaningful and stimulating educational opportunities to promote a growing relationship with Christ. You are welcomed to join in.
